Is Mount Juliet going to hold next years Irish Open?

The new “Road to Dubai” was announced yesterday and all the qualifying rounds etc were announced – however the Irish Open has no venue as yet!

Mount Juliet was voted Best Irish Parkland course by Golf World this month and by Backspin in March 2008 …. a bit coincidental that the day after announcing the Road to Dubai that the GUI is actually visiting Mount Juliet today ( I deliver packages in this area and spotted this today ). …. anyone hear anything about this?

I have checked out http://www.mountjuliet.ie/ but there is nothing in the News section ….??!

I think Adare is still the Irish Open course ? They haven’t announced the course yet because they (Adare) might pull out as they’ve LOST €4.5m in the last 3 years of holding it !! The K Club is probably next in Line Although Mount Juliet or Druids Glen are possibilities, its all about infrastructure, and Ballybunion isn’t as assessable as others !! Druids isn’t that easy get to either !! It should go back to Ballybunion, in my opinion !! It might draw top players back ! Who don’t get much Links exposure prior to the British Open !!
