Presidents Cup Apparel Attraction

The yin and yang of fashion courses (target = "_blank"> Golf Story Mode) is clearly technical or traditional. Of course, the opposing forces are often interconnected so invisible. So much golf apparel apparent with traditional modern fabric performance and processes, whether from Dunning, Fairway & Greene, or Polo Ralph Lauren, who showed two separate collections, to meet these needs, last week at its headquarters in New York.

Symbolic of the whole enterprise are probably showrooms by Ralph Lauren themselves: a sanctuary of masculine style with dark wood paneling and hunting scenes displayed on the walls, located in a modern skyscraper with stainless steel mullions and curtain wall glass green on Madison Avenue. The dichotomy in the way golf is indicated by the two collections – Polo Golf and RLX – shown in the same room.

The first evokes the classic look of Ben Hogan and Country Club for intense life of Newport Beach and Coral Gables: knit shirts of cotton (A-mercerized to preserve the softness and drape natural) linen fine silk stripe shorts; cable cardigans, jackets Fair Isle, the cream color, and various old Timey peaks, including a new monogram vintage-looking golfers to play what is said to require 69,000 points (not hand, we hope).

The second line, RLX is synonymous with performance and cutting-edge train, featuring stretch polyester, "air" stripes on the sleeves, bold colors (raspberry, saturation in green) and Sneaky pockets to hold your tees and stuff. The agreement is much more near the body. Illustrating this look is Luke Donald, the line's sponsored Pro Tour.

Which approach is the winner? The collection is now RLX 40 per cent of sales of golf, according to managers Ralph Lauren, up from just 8 percent several years ago (they refused to say exactly when). This suggests explosive growth in performance apparel (RLX) at the expense of the classic. But it has cut into sales RLX Polo Golf? Ralph Lauren executives do would not. As mentioned previously, there are interactions between the two approaches. The RLX line includes classical pieces – a cricket sweater, for example, or cardigan Argyle – Polo Golf and has performance characteristics. Therefore, the trajectory of the mode is unclear.

More importantly, it might not be a matter of choice or something. Whatever his style of direction, a golfer is not necessarily completely wear traditional clothing every time He plays golf, just like people do not wear suits in each context. The golfer chooses its look depending on many factors: who are his golf buddies, the level of prestige of the club or course it is, whether or not he will see his boss or important clients on the route, weather, and so on.

The fashion reality is that the guys feel comfortable going to traditional in some contexts and more casual and modern in others.

HAPPY FEET

The largest golf shoe maker, FootJoy, may have a similar problem in maintaining a traditional approach, while not lacking in the younger, watching the performance. This week Golf FootJoy introduced a new performance shoe FJ Sport, designed for "the player seeking bold, athletic inspired golf shoes."

Long the leader in classic golf shoes waterproof FootJoy is highly competitive sportswear giants like Nike and Adidas, whose products are almost exclusively of athletic shoes in sight. However, parameters are somewhat different here. All golf shoes have to do. If your shoes are not tight or uncomfortable, or are unstable during the swing then what good are they? The shoes are like pieces of equipment that fashion.

FootJoy already done a lot of athletic inspired golf shoes, but the new model complements the elegant and upscale shoes FJ Icon. Sport FJ features leather uppers Full grain, mesh lining, and soft, lightweight amortized. Icon FJ costs about $ 250; Sport FJ will sell for $ 135.

PRESIDENTIAL STYLE
By Greg Norman on the target = "_blank"> Presidents Cup, it was a bit like an eagle two: Not only is captained the International team, but his players were wearing clothes of his namesake brand golf apparel. (The sponsor's clothing Team USA was Ashworth Golf, the longtime sponsor of clothing from his captain, Fred Couples.) Greg Norman Presidents uniforms Cup included Argyle many models and a few color-blocked shirts – all in high tissue interpretation, of course.
